About the Author
I wrote Podger`s Farm as a family history after being prompted by my children, my daughter mainly; the usual kids request to their parents of what did you do when you were a boy, Dad?
Over the years I had often thought of doing it but with my lack of written English I decided not to. I've kept a daily diary for over forty years and the spelling in that can best be described as imaginative, i.e. thort (thought), laffing (laughing).
In 2005 I acquired a computer and when I found the spell checker, I was away. It was a pity I wrote the first 20,000 words before I found I was on English US instead of English UK! However, it gave the kids a good laugh.
The book describes my childhood on a small urban farm from the mid 1930's up to 1950 when the farm was knocked down. It covers our lives through the war years which was a great adventure to us kids although our parents must have been worried; helping on the farm when needed and the fun we had with our friends. They were very happy days for us kids.
