“A nice collection of practical knowledge, good to have for any level of knowledge in acute care.”
Your pocket-sized reference for emergencies ― designed to help you act fast when every second counts. With clear instructions and visual overviews, this book provides guidance on more than 50 urgent conditions, supporting confident decision making in stressful situations.
Following the cABCDE structure, the content focuses on symptoms rather than specific diagnoses, ensuring you can take the right steps under pressure. It also provides targeted care for children, pregnant women, and older adults, making it a versatile tool for any setting ― from the ward to the field.
Highlights include:
• Step-by-step instructions for breathing and circulation problems, CPR, and wound care
• Guidance on fractures, burns, bites, and other minor injuries
• Practical tips, illustrations, and summaries to support fast recall under pressure
• Compact and portable design, always ready in your pocket
Developed in collaboration with The Netherlands Red Cross, this handbook has been reviewed by experts in first aid, emergency medicine, and resuscitation. Special thanks go to Cees van Romburgh, who brought over 15 years of expertise in first aid guidelines to the project.
Clear, practical, and reliable, Pocket First Aid is an essential tool for healthcare professionals, first aiders, and anyone who may face an emergency. Keep it at hand ― a trusted companion for saving lives.
