A Plot Against the People. This item is unavailable.A Plot Against the People

"A Plot Against the People" delves into the contentious history surrounding the Pure Food Law and the fervent efforts of certain Kentucky "Straight Whisky" interests to manipulate the legislation for their own gain. This book uncovers their audacious attempt to establish a monopoly for their fusel oil whiskies while simultaneously outlawing all refined whiskies.

Authored by William Robins and Hiram Walker & Sons, Limited, this historical account sheds light on the political and economic machinations within the food industry during the early 20th century. It's a fascinating look at the intersection of law, business, and consumer interests. Readers interested in the history of food regulation, the whiskey industry, or the tactics of monopolistic practices will find this book a compelling and informative read.
