Play Guitar With Rory Gallagher is a guitar TAB songbook and online audio collection designed for intermediate electric guitar players who want to study and perform the legendary Irish guitarist’s blues rock style with greater accuracy and confidence. Featuring 16 songs specially mixed from the original Rory Gallagher studio masters, this edition combines detailed guitar tablature, chord symbols, chord boxes and full lyrics with immersive play-along audio that places players alongside the original backing musicians.
The collection includes newly transcribed arrangements that capture Gallagher’s phrasing, bends, riffs and solo techniques as closely as possible. The accompanying online audio provides exclusive instrumental mixes and backing tracks for every song, allowing guitarists to practise lead parts in a realistic band setting. Audio can be streamed or downloaded through Hal Leonard’s MyLibrary system and includes playback tools for slowing down tracks, looping sections and adjusting keys without affecting pitch.
The combination of notation and studio-quality play-along audio makes this collection especially useful for guitarists developing timing, improvisation and blues phrasing. Playing with full backing tracks can help strengthen rhythm awareness and musical expression while making practice sessions more engaging and rewarding. From expressive slow blues passages to energetic rock-driven riffs, the material offers a varied learning experience that reflects Rory Gallagher’s distinctive style and influence on generations of guitar players.
