Paperback. Planting New Churches. This book presents examples of church pnating in practice: some are from large churches such as Holy Trinity, Brompton and St. Thomas Crookes uin Sheffield. Others are smaller in scale but no less inspiring, with teams going into tough urban areas or huge Local Authority estates previously untouched by the church. The book also provides invaluable resource material. The latest information on church planting is presented. The furture of the parish system is considered. The theological implications are tackled by George Carey, writing on ecclesiology and mission, and David Gillett covering training. Problems are faced along with the joys: and the pioneers of early plants (now 20 years old) offer reflections on what has been learnt. This book is essential reading for al concerned with the future mission and ministry of the Church of England. 240 pp. (We carry a wide selection of titles in The Arts, Theology, History, Politics, Social and Physical Sciences.
