Fine in Very Good dust jacket; Hardcover; tall 8vo 9" - 10" tall; 368 pages, bound in bright yellow cloth. Quite bright and clean cover, tightly bound, sharp corners. Interior pristine. In corner-clipped jacket with long scratch on back panel; 1" tear at bottom of flap fold discreetly mended with tape on the verso. Paris-born Francois Mignon immigrated to America and in his travels met the owners of Melrose Plantation in Cane River country Louisiana. He was invited back for a longer visit and remained for thirty-two years, becoming the curator of the Melrose Plantation library collections, buildings and gardens.
