Fine in Very Good dust jacket; Hardcover; tall 8vo 9" - 10" tall; 368 pages, bound in bright yellow cloth. Quite bright and clean cover, tightly bound, sharp corners. Interior pristine. In corner-clipped jacket with long scratch on back panel; 1" tear at bottom of flap fold discreetly mended with tape on the verso. Paris-born Francois Mignon immigrated to America and in his travels met the owners of Melrose Plantation in Cane River country Louisiana. He was invited back for a longer visit and remained for thirty-two years, becoming the curator of the Melrose Plantation library collections, buildings and gardens. Collected from his newspaper columns depicting plantation life and the culture of Old Louisiana are contained here. Packaged with care and shipped in a box. Bookseller Inventory # 27756
