About the Author
Dr. Vishnu Mishra is a distinguished researcher with a comprehensive plant biotechnology and molecular biology background. He completed his master’s in plant biotechnology from the prestigious Banaras Hindu University. Furthermore, he demonstrated his expertise by qualifying for national-level exams such as the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), and Department of Biotechnology-Junior Research Fellowship (DBT-JRF). Dr. Mishra pursued his Ph.D. at the National Institute of Plant Genome Research, affiliated with Jawaharlal Nehru University, where he developed a strong foundation in plant biology and plant–microbe interactions. From 2022 to 2025, Dr. Mishra continued his scientific journey as a postdoctoral researcher at the Delaware Biotechnology Institute, University of Delaware, USA, where he expanded his research in genomics, biotechnology, and molecular biology, emphasizing plant–pathogen communication and plasmodesmata biology.
Dr. Mishra has been awarded a postdoctoral fellowship by the Dirección General de Asuntos del Personal Académico (DGAPA), Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), under the UNAM Postdoctoral Program (POSDOC). Currently, Dr. Mishra serves as a DGAPA postdoctoral fellow at the Laboratorio de Genómica Funcional de Leguminosas, Departamento de Biología, Facultad de Estudios Superiores Iztacala, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), Mexico. His ongoing research focuses on plant–microbe interactions for sustainable crop growth and resilience, particularly exploring molecular mechanisms that enhance legume adaptability under nutrient stress conditions.
Dr. Mishra’s scholarly contributions are extensive, encompassing research articles, review papers, and book chapters in leading international journals and publishing houses. He has reviewed over 50 scientific manuscripts and serves on the editorial board of Frontiers in Plant Science, reflecting his commitment to academic excellence and scientific integrity.
As an ambassador and active member of the American Society of Plant Biologists (ASPB), Dr. Mishra has participated in numerous international symposia and scientific events, contributing to the global dialog on plant science innovation. His dedication to advancing fundamental and applied plant biology continues to make a significant impact on the field.
Dr. Saurabh Pandey is currently working as an assistant professor in the Department of Plant Molecular Biology and Biotechnology at Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India. He has over 10 years of professional experience in diverse areas of plant biotechnology, including plant stress biology, virus–host interactions, abiotic stress tolerance, molecular breeding, plant transformation, and nutritional biofortification in tomato and rice crops. He completed his Ph.D. in plant virology from the National Institute of Plant Genome Research (NIPGR), New Delhi, with the degree awarded by Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. His doctoral research focused on the functional analysis of RNA helicases and their role in multi-stress tolerance, particularly under viral infections. Previously, he completed his M.Sc. (agriculture) in plant biotechnology from the University of Agricultural Sciences, GKVK, Bangalore, India, earning a gold medal for academic excellence. His undergraduate degree (B.Sc. agriculture) was completed at Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, Raipur, India.
Dr. Pandey’s current research emphasizes biotic stress management in key food crops through molecular interventions. His professional journey has included extensive work on stress-resilient crop improvement, development of molecular markers, Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP)-based association studies, and genome-wide identification of key regulatory genes. He is involved in introducing stress-responsive genes, developing functional markers, and elucidating regulatory networks that enhance stress tolerance. He has published over 40 research and review articles in high-impact journals, including Plant Physiology and Biochemistry, Frontiers in Plant Science, Environmental and Experimental Botany, Plant Science, and the Journal of Plant Growth Regulation. Dr. Pandey serves as an associate editor for the Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture. He is also an editorial board member in Frontiers in Plant Science (Abiotic Stress section), BMC Plant Biology, Discover Plants, and Discover Agriculture, among others. He also served as a guest editor for Frontiers in Ecology and the Environment, compiling a special issue. He is also an active reviewer for reputed journals, including Physiologia Plantarum, Plant Physiology and Biochemistry, and the South African Journal of Botany. His academic output includes five edited books published by internationally recognized publishers, such as CRC Press and Springer. He has authored more than 15 popular science articles aimed at disseminating research insights to farming and extension communities. In terms of technical expertise, he is proficient in gene expression analysis (qPCR and RACEPCR), molecular cloning, Southern blotting, protein expression and purification, virus-induced gene silencing (VIGS), yeast-two-hybrid and bimolecular fluorescence complementation (BiFC) assays, confocal microscopy, and microbial culture techniques. He is also well-versed in bioinformatics tools for genome-wide analysis, promoter mining, and primer designing. His achievements include a university gold medal, the Best PG Thesis Award, and several national fellowships, such as National Talent Scholarship (NTS), Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), and Senior Research Fellowship (SRF), from the Indian Council for Agricultural Research (ICAR) and Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India. His doctoral work has been featured in national science communication platforms such as Science Monitor (Rajya Sabha TV), The Hindu newspaper, and DBT/DST’s official media. Dr. Pandey has also contributed to sequence submissions to National Centre for Biotechnology Information (NCBI), playing a critical role in resource development for crop improvement.
He has actively participated in several international and national training programs, symposia, and conferences. His collaborative and interdisciplinary research approach continues to make significant contributions to the advancement of plant molecular science and agricultural biotechnology.
Dr. Vishal Varshney is a distinguished researcher in the plant molecular biology field. He is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the Institut de Biologie Moléculaire des Plantes du CNRS (IBMPCNRS) in Strasbourg, France, where he began in April 2024. Previously, he served as an assistant professor of botany at the Govt. Shaheed Gendsingh College in Charama, Chhattisgarh, from 2022 to 2024. Dr. Varshney earned his Ph.D. from NIPGR in New Delhi, where he conducted significant research on the molecular and functional characterization of an F-box protein (SKIP31) in Arabidopsis thaliana under the supervision of Dr. Manoj Majee. He completed his M.Sc. and B.Sc. in botany from Aligarh Muslim University, both with gold medal honors. His research primarily focuses on the ubiquitin–proteasome pathway and its role in enhancing crop yield by optimizing seed agronomic traits. Dr. Varshney has published extensively in high-impact journals, contributing to the understanding of seed maturation, vigor, and stress responses in plants. Notable publications include research on the Arabidopsis F-box protein SKP1-INTERACTING PARTNER 31, which modulates seed maturation and vigor, published in The Plant Cell. In addition to his research, Dr. Varshney has received several prestigious awards and fellowships, including the Inspiring Science Award (2024) from TNQ Technologies, Senior and Junior Research Fellowships from the CSIR and University Grants Commission (UGC) for his Ph.D. studies, and multiple gold medal awards for his academic excellence. In addition to his research, Dr. Varshney has reviewed over 20 articles for various reputed journals and serves as guest topic coordinator for a special issue "The Dynamics of Environmental Stresses and Seed Physiology: A Complex Interaction in Plant Systems" in Frontiers in Plant Science Journal, further underscoring his expertise and influence in the field. He was awarded the Raja Ramanna Fellowship by the Department of Energy, Government of India. He has served in all prestigious positions in academia, including as vice-chancellor of Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya, project coordinator of Indo-Russian Center for Biotechnology in India, and director of research of the Institute of Nutraceutical Research of Clemson University in the USA. He has also worked at Pennsylvania State University and Clemson University as a visiting professor. He has been heading the International Climate-Resilient Crop Genomics Consortium, the International Phytomedomics and Nutriomics Consortium, and Genome India International as their founder president. He is also the founder chairman of Prof. Chittaranjan Kole Foundation for Science and Society.

We ask all customers to contact us for authorisation should they wish to return their order. Orders returned without authorisation may not be credited.
If you wish to return, please contact us within 14 days of receiving your order to obtain authorisation.
Returns requested beyond this time will not be authorised.

You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.
The withdrawal period will expire after 14 days from the day on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you acquires, physical possession of the last good or the last lot or piece.
To exercise the right of withdrawal, electronically fill in and submit a clear statement on our website, under "My Purchases" in "My Account". We will communicate to you an acknowledgement of receipt of such a withdrawal on a durable medium (e.g. by e-mail) without delay.
To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
Effects of withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us).
We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.
We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract.
We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.
We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back, or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest.
You shall send back the goods or hand them over to PBShop.store UK, Fairford, United Kingdom, +44 1285 712917, without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your withdrawal from this contract to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired. You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods. Exceptions to the right of withdrawal
