Add to basketNematodes are intriguing organisms that are members of the phylum Nematoda and are widespread around the world. These parasites can feed on a variety of decorative commercially important agricultural crops, reducing farmer income in both developed and developing nations. Although nematode disease and control strategies have been extensively studied in recent years, more research and investigation into the state of plant-nematode interactions, management strategies, and damage control mechanisms needs to be done.
This new volume provides in-depth knowledge of plant-nematode interactions and delves into effective management techniques. First focusing on identification and characterization of plant parasitic nematodes using molecular techniques, the volume takes a deep look at their interactions with plants, focusing on agriculturally important crops as well as ornamental plants. It goes on to cover recent advances in disease control and management strategies of parasitic nematodes on plants and crops, focusing on biocontrol, such as plant-growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) bio-formulations and other bioformulations.
