A pinprick memorial with flying angels with upward arms holding a wreath of laurel and flowers above an altar with crossed torches and flaming hearts. Apparently an unmarried young woman. Early to mid-19th Century. Hand colored. Angels the agent of God, symbolizing spirituality; the flying angels depict rebirth; the upward hands a reward of the righteous, confirmation of life after death. Wreath A symbol of eternity and the circle of life. White Roses symbolize purity and virginity, the full bloom indicated death in the twenties; deceased in the prime of life Flames - eternity Housed in gold frame. Framed and matted. Housed in gold wooden frame. Show view 8.25" by 6.75".
