One of a lovely collection of classic children's books issued in the early-mid-20th century by Garden City Publishing Co. in NY, which primarily published reprints of books orig. issued by its parent company, Doubleday. All the books were cloth-bound hardcover books with a colored paper pastedown to the front board, each illustrated by a famous artist of the day. Published in 1932 (First, Thus) this one has the lovely full-color illustrations of Maud & Miska Petersham, pioneering American writers & illustrators of children's books around the turn of the 20th century. Besides the frontispiece/title page, there are 3 internal color plates (all colorful, but showing foxing to margins). Hardcover has black cloth-covered boards, lettered in green to spine. Condition is Good: binding strong & straight, both hinges secure, generally clean but heavily tanned & foxed. Former owner's name inside front cover, scribbled out in pen, else pages are unmarked. Moderate rubbing to extremities & corner bumping. Our photos depict the Exact book you will receive, never "stock" images of books we don't actually have! Same Day Shipping on all orders received Weekdays by 2 pm (Pacific time); later orders, weekends & holidays ship very next business day.…
