Neuware - Alice Louise's breakout novel is set in the verdant Allegheny Mountains in the 1850s. The life of Matthew Gallio reached from the coal mines of those storied mountains to the streets of Paris, France. Born into poverty, of immigrant parents, he was orphaned at age 10. Gifted as an artist, he rose to unbelievable fame as a portrait painter. Tragedy, deceit, and passion are woven into his quest for happiness.Three women loved him, and each in her own way shaped the saga of The Pink Ribbon - a coal miner's daughter, the daughter of a mine owner, and the beautiful granddaughter of his rich benefactress. His deep love for one of them would change his life forever. Hatred, greed and jealousy will plague Matthew throughout his career. His search for the love of his life is rewarded with disappointment and sorrow. Will his fame sustain him.
