A heart-warming tale of a farmer and his family who nuture tiny seedlings into Chrstimas trees. When the trees are tall enough to offer to their neighbors, the famers wife plans to keep the most beautiful tree for her family, until one snowy December night, a child teaches her the true meaning of Christmas.
From the Author:
"It is better to GIVE than to...KEEP!"
The last of the four Parable books for children 3-8, The Pine Tree Parable lets us watch the Farmer and his family grow up, from babes to teens, just as the pine tree seedlings grow into tall, graceful trees. One snowy December night, a family arrives at the farm, looking for a Christmas tree. The Farmer's wife is given the chance to celebrate Christmas in a sacrificial way. Many readers have told me this is their favorite of the four. (Since these books are like my own children, I cherish them all, and can never pick a favorite!) Once again, Nancy's incredible artwork makes this a page-turner for young children. May it touch your heart, not only at Christmas, but every day of the year!
