Book appears to be first thus due to the addition of "A Key to the Allegory and a Critique on its Beauties." Published by William Sharp, Church Street, Ramsey, England, 1816. Very good leather bound book. Small blind-stamped diamond pattern with delicate gilt border borders on front and back panels. Five panels on spine, four with decorative gilt, one with the title in gilt against a black background. Front corner at head of spine shows repair by previous owner. All edges are scuffed to some degree; spine corners and lower fore-edge corners are rubbed through. External page edges are marbled and age-darkened. Previous owner's bookplate on front paste down. FFEP is approx. 50% separated. Many engravings by David Read including frontispiece of John Bunyan. Foxing is mostly limited to the front several pages, the heavily illustrated pages between sections, and the last several pages, with minimal foxing throughout the rest of the book.
