- Master the Original Pilates Method from the Master Himself
- Long before it became a global fitness phenomenon, Joseph Pilates called his revolutionary mind-body conditioning system "Contrology." Originally published in 1945, Pilates' Return to Life Through Contrology is the definitive, foundational manual written by the master himself. In this beautifully revised edition for the 21st century, fitness expert Judd Robbins updates Pilates' original language, making the classic instructions clearer, safer, and highly accessible for today's modern practitioner.
- This indispensable guide outlines the core philosophy behind the Pilates method-that true health is achieved when the mind has complete control over the physical body. It provides detailed, step-by-step instructions for Joseph Pilates' original 34 classical mat exercises, designed to build extraordinary core strength, increase flexibility, correct posture, and revitalize the entire nervous system without the need for expensive equipment.
- Inside this foundational fitness manual, readers will discover:
- The Philosophy of Contrology: How achieving a perfect balance of mind and body eliminates physical fatigue and prevents injury.
- The 34 Classic Mat Exercises: Clear, updated instructions for performing the exact sequence developed by Joseph Pilates.
- Holistic Wellness: Pilates' original advice on breathing, diet, sleep, and lifestyle habits for ultimate physical vitality.
- Whether you are a certified Pilates instructor seeking the roots of your practice, or a beginner looking to build strength and flexibility from the comfort of home, this updated classic is the ultimate guide to the true Pilates method.
