After being transformed into a pig by Circe due to his attitude while working as a crewman during Odysseus' voyage, Gryllus the pig accounts his tale of adventure after being kidnapped by the prophetess Sibyl who urges him, a talking pig, to help her in her dangerous mission to Delphi in order to change the pending destruction facing their world.
About the Author: Paul Shipton is the author of many books for young readers, including BUG MULDOON: THE GARDEN OF FEAR and THE MIGHTY STINK. Of THE PIG SCROLLS, he says, "I got the idea for this book when I was reading Homer's Odyssey and found myself most interested in some of the non-heroic characters in the background. Working on the book gave me a chance to revisit a world I have always loved that of ancient mythology and history. And of course, in order to research the character of Gryllus fully, I was forced to eat a huge number of pies." Paul Shipton and his family divide their time between Cambridge, England, and Madison, Wisconsin.
