9" x 11 1/8", 280 pp., green quarter cloth with gilt titling to spine, lighter green paper-covered boards, in illustrated dust jacket. In Near Fine condition with only a quaint bookplate on the front pastedown (hidden by the dustjacket flap) and a few bumped corners (bottom leading corner has a small split at the very tip); otherwise Fine with no writing or other issues. Dust jacket is also Near Fine, with minor bumping to the spine ends: mylar cover over the dj. ** Photo is distorted because of the mylar cover. Considered the best history of the American postcard, from its beginning in 1861 and through all the developments in printing and fads of subject matter.
