C'è poco spazio per i buoni sentimenti tra le pagine stampate in questa Piccola Fabbrica degli Orrori. Poco o nulla. Chiunque avrà la pazienza di leggere i diciassette racconti raccolti in questo volume, lo dovrà fare quindi con la consapevolezza che non ci sarà spazio per robe del tipo “andrà tutto bene”. No, qui va tutto male, e questo, ammettiamolo, almeno nella narrativa, nell’intrattenimento, ci diverte.
Di sicuro a me sì, nello scrivere diverte eccome. E per quanto mi riguarda non esiste l’idea del giusto e dello sbagliato quando ci si ritrova a voler raccontare qualcosa. Esiste soltanto una storia. Una storia che a volte è giusta, spesso è sbagliata, altre volte è cattiva e qualche volta buona. Esistono storie.
Dunque pensiamoci su due volte prima di accettare l’invito di una bella ragazza a seguirla in un tour nella fabbrica in cui dice di aver lavorato; sbaglio o ha parlato di orrori?
Diamo uno sguardo a ciò che accade nella cantina della casa di Stefano... prima e dopo; soprattutto dopo.
E che ne dite di fare una bella passeggiata nel bosco in una notte d’estate e accompagnare Sandro ed Emma verso l’incontro con un amico speciale?
E ancora: siete pronti ad assistere al processo più importante dell’intera storia del genere umano?
E avete mai pensato a cosa potrebbe accadere se la vostra fantasia fosse... particolarmente creativa?
Sarà poi il tempo di scendere in un’altra cantina, quella di un ragazzino che è convinto di aver sentito che lì sotto ci sarebbe la possibilità di incontrare pezzi... davvero grossi.
Poi sarà la volta di alzare gli occhi al cielo e godersi uno spettacolo senza precedenti; in tutti i sensi.
E a proposito di spettacolo: l’intervista del sabato sera di un noto programma televisivo sembra promettere davvero bene, grazie all’ospitata di uno scrittore parecchio originale.
Come parecchio originale sarà il prete che si presenterà al cospetto di Romeo.
E... fermi tutti: un taxi giallo? Ma i taxi non sono bianchi da qualche anno a questa parte?
Arriverà poi il tempo di fermare il tempo in una notte di oscuri pensieri, oscure presenze e, soprattutto, oscure consapevolezze...
Un salto poi in Inghilterra, dove assisteremo a un’asta davvero particolare.
E ancora una volta occhi verso il cielo, alla ricerca di una stella cadente pronti a esprimere un desiderio...
Come il desiderio di un bambino che lo spingerà, ahinoi, tra le grinfie di un vecchio dalle cattive intenzioni.
Ma via... via i cattivi pensieri e tuffiamoci in discoteca con un gruppo di tre ragazzi alla ricerca di belle conquiste.
Ed ecco che arriverà, forse, la storia con l’unico, forse, lieto fine della raccolta: da cercare rigorosamente in fondo a un baule.
Andiamo poi alla notte di Natale di due bambini, fratello e sorella, che attenderanno da svegli l’arrivo di Babbo Natale.
Infine, accompagnati da Lucia, si entrerà per davvero nella Fabbrica degli Orrori. Ma... un attimo: non vi avevo detto di pensarci su due volte prima di entrare?
A vostro rischio e pericolo, dunque, entrate pure.

Right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer you can withdraw from the contract in accordance with the following. Consumer means any natural person who is acting for purposes which are outside his trade, business, craft or profession.

Statutory right to withdraw
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.
The withdrawal period will expire after 14 days from the day on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you acquires, physical possession of the last good or the last lot or piece.
To exercise the right of withdrawal, electronically fill in and submit a clear statement on our website, under "My Purchases" in "My Account". We will communicate to you an acknowledgement of receipt of such a withdrawal on a durable medium (e.g. by e-mail) without delay.
To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
Effects of withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us).
We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.
We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract.
We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.
We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back, or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest.
You shall send back the goods or hand them over to California Books, Fort Wayne, Indiana, U.S.A., without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your withdrawal from this contract to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired. You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods. You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.
Exceptions to the right of withdrawal
The right of withdrawal does not apply to:
- The delivery of newspapers, journals or magazines with the exception of subscription contracts; and
- The supply of digital content which is not supplied on a tangible medium (e.g. on a CD or DVD) if you accepted when you placed your order that we could start to deliver it, and that you could not withdraw once delivery had started.
