About this Item
A sweeping coastal landscape showing wood and tin structures, with a number of canvas tents in the foreground, homestead in the middle ground, surf breaking on the beach, and the coast road clearly visible in the distance. Bald Hill is one of Illawarra's most beautiful lookouts, and the beach here was the site of Lawrence Hargrave's experiments with box kites.
