Philosophy of Technology : 5 Questions. This item is unavailable.Philosophy of Technology : 5 Questions

Philosophy of Technology is a collection of short interviews based on 5 questions presented to some of the most influential and prominent scholars in this field. We hear their views on technology, its aim, scope, use, the future, and how their work fits in these respects.

Technology is too important a topic to be left to the
professional philosophers. Its neglect is a scandal. Philosophy of
technology is at last undergoing a revival under the spur of contributors
from science studies, anthropology and feminist scholarship. Many of the
leading figures are interviewed for this book which provides insights into
their thinking on technology, their goals, and their research strategies.
The volume as a whole is an indispensable guide to how the modernist
paradigm is slip sliding away - different road maps to amodernity and
postmodernity are offered. There is even a welcome smattering of thoroughly
modernist reactionaries.

As successive technological revolutions transform our everyday life, the
philosophy of technology becomes more and more relevant to crucial issues
of the contemporary moment. Philosophy of Technology: 5 Questions
interrogates major philosophers of technology who address key issues in the
field and lay out a wealth of positions. The result provides both insight
into specific thinkers and an excellent overview of the field today in the
philosophy of technology.
