Published in London in 1899 this is the second edition, revised and enlarged of this Victorian history of the Philippine Islands, covering all aspects of the archipelago, bound in pictorial blue cloth, 9.5 inches tall approx., 653 pages, illustrated with photographs & Maps, including a larger folding map housed in a rear pocket the First Edition had 495 pages, this revised expanded edition has 653 pages, the covers have some rubbing wear and marking, corner bumps else in good general condition, internally title page browned from offsetting from the protective tissue guard which is also browned, a few occasional small handling marks, some damaged and tear to inner edge of rear blank endpaper (pictured) small surface abrasion to rear blank endpapers, the folding map to rear has browned to reverse and has a few small splits at fold lines else in good general condition A GENERALLY GOOD EXAMPLE OF THE REVISED AND GREATLY ENLARGED SECOND EDITION.
