8vo; hbk; a colourfully illustrated cloth cover; gift inscription (not author) on fep) dated 1919; colour frontis; a further 5 colour plates; nice clean pages; this is part an American family story, part a girls career story; a young woman, whilst doing the grand tour in Europe, paid for & accompanying by a female friend, after 2 years, decides it is time for her to return home to her family in the US, and study for a career, and her chosen career is medicine, the same as her father. The story follows her studying and family life whilst she studies and trains. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall.
