About the Author:
Dr Malcolm willis bought his first German Shepherd in 1953 and has owned them ever since. He first judged in 1959, gave Challenge Certificates in 1978, and has judged in nine countries around the world. For some 13 years, he was on the Council of the GSD League, and he has been Chairman of the GSD Breed Council in Britain since it was formed in the mid 1980s.
He is one of the breed surveyors for the Breed Council and he runs the genetic side of the hip dysplasia scoring scheme for all breeds.
In 1988, he was awarded a gold medal from the GSD Council of Australia for services to the breed, and in that same year, he judged the GSD National in Britain, the only Briton yet to do so.
