Perspectives is a four-skills series in American and British English that teaches learners to think critically and to develop the language skills they need to find their own voice in English. The carefully-guided language lessons, real-world stories, and TED Talks motivate learners to think creatively and communicate effectively. In Perspectives, learners develop an open mind, a critical eye and a clear voice in English.

About the Authors

Daniel Barber is a teacher, trainer and writer based in C�diz, Spain. He's taught classes of all types and ages over more than twenty years as well as tutoring and directing Trinity TESOL courses and managing his own school. He is an author for National Geographic Learning's secondary series Perspectives and Look, a seven-level series for young learners of English. His interests include motivation in learning, coaching approaches to teaching English and the science of learning and the brain.

Amanda Jeffries is a teacher, trainer and author. She grew up in the north of England and after graduating in Modern Languages from Oxford University, did her DELTA and then MA in TEFL at Reading University. She has taught in Chile and in the UK, where her work has included teaching in private language schools, examining for Cambridge exams, running a distance learning Masters course in ELT, and working as Academic Advisor for Language Teaching at Oxford University. She is now based in Oxford, UK, where she teaches English and communication skills to university students and runs training workshops for teachers. She has written English language teaching materials for several major publishers, specialising in advanced English. She has taught in the UK and Chile.

Hugh Dellar is a teacher, teacher trainer, and coursebook writer based in London. He has over twenty-five years of experience in the field and is the co-founder of Lexical Lab. He has co-authored two five-level General English series, Outcomes and Innovations, both published by National Geographic Learning, and one level of the high-school series Perspectives.

Andrew has been in English language teaching for over thirty years. He started out as a teacher in Valencia, Spain. Since then he has largely worked in colleges and universities in London but also spent four more years in Spain and conducted talks and workshops many other countries. He met Hugh at the University of Westminster and started writing with him on the series Innovations. Since then they have written several coursebook series as well as methodology books (Teaching Lexically DELTA Publishing) and Grammar Nonsense and what to do about it. After leaving Westminster in 2014 Andrew and Hugh have been running www.lexicallab.com which provides online language classes for teachers and other professional development both online and face-to-face. Andrew has a wide variety of interest outside of ELT including reading, theatre-going, dancing, gardening, playing football and politics. He currently lives in London with his wife, Nadera, and her dog.

Right of cancellation

Statutory Right to cancel

You have the right to cancel this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.

The cancellation period will expire after 14 days from the day on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you acquires, physical possession of the the last good or the last lot or piece.

To exercise the right to cancel, you must inform us, Chiron Media, 2 Lester Way, OX10 1DW, Wallingford, United Kingdom, 44 8008085306, of your decision to cancel this contract by a clear statement (e.g. a letter sent by post, fax or e-mail). You may use the attached model cancellation form, but it is not obligatory. You can also electronically fill in and submit a clear statement on our website, under "My Purchases" in "My Account". If you use this option, we will communicate to you an acknowledgement of receipt of such a cancellation on a durable medium (e.g. by e-mail) without delay.

To meet the cancellation deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right to cancel before the cancellation period has expired.

Effects of cancellation

If you cancel this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us).

We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.

We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to cancel with contract.

We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.

We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest.

You shall send back the goods or hand them over to us or Chiron Media, PO Box 318, OX10 1DW, Wallingford, United Kingdom, 44 8008085306, without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your cancellation from this contract to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired. You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods. You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.

Exceptions to the right of cancellation

The right of cancellation does not apply to:

the delivery of newspapers, journals or magazines with the exception of subscription contracts; and
the supply of digital content (including ebooks) which is not supplied on a tangible medium (e.g. on a CD or DVD) if you accepted when you placed your order that we could start to deliver it, and that you could not cancel it once delivery had started.
