From the Publisher
Each chapter focuses on a problem or issue, and opens with a question, to help students identify the thesis.
The pairing of personalities is cross-cultural, comparative, and biographical.
Each chapter is constructed as a complete essay, so can be assigned in any order.
Personalities are chosen for their interest value to freshmen as well as for their intrinsic importance, and terms new to freshman are defined when introduced.
