The Perpetual Government of Christ's Church is a seminal work of Anglican theology that explores the history, authority, and governance of the Christian Church. Written by Robert Eden and Thomas Or Bilson, two prominent bishops and scholars of the seventeenth century, the book argues that the Church is a divinely ordained institution with a perpetual and unchanging mission to spread the Gospel and administer the sacraments. It examines the role of bishops, priests, and deacons, as well as the relationship between Church and State. This volume is an important contribution to the ongoing dialogue about the nature and purpose of the Christian Church.
