Mungbean(Vigna radiata L. Wilczek) is the most important pulse crop in tropical and sub-tropical regions belonging to the family Leguminosae, sub-family Papilionaceae. It contains 51% carbohydrate,26% protein,4% minerals,3% vitamins. Mungbean is a popular pulse crop in Indian subcontinent as a food & fodder crop. In Bangladesh,seeds of mungbean are mainly consumed as soup but in many parts of the world, mungbean consumed in various ways such as drinks,cookies,snakes etc. Sprouted mungbean seeds are consumed as vegetables. Among many shortcomings of Mungbean cultivation,insect pests attack termed as a major one. So,it is important to find out the resistant variety(ies)to avoid insect pests infestation for attaining better yield and Eco-friendly cultivation. White fly termed as a most serious pest of mungbean cultivation due to its tiny and delicate nature & have inherent resistance power against adverse situations. White fly also act as a vector to transmit MYMV disease and some times it may cause yield loss upto 100%. Through this book academicians and students will able to know more insight about mungbean's insect pests, resistant varieties and varietal screening procedures.
