English George Grimm examines fundamental religious questions concerning the origin, destiny, and happiness of human beings and seeks their answers in the philosophical religions of India. Drawing on the Vedas, the Upanishads, and Buddhist thought, he explores the human longing for lasting happiness, the nature of the self, attachment to the transient world, and the possibility of liberation. Grimm connects Buddhist and Vedantic insights with mystical traditions associated with thinkers such as Plotinus, Meister Eckhart, and Schopenhauer, emphasizing that genuine religious knowledge rests not merely on faith or dogma but on inner experience, insight, and meditative self-examination.
