The first English County History written in the year 1570 and first published in 1576. This the second edition increased and altered after the authors own last copy and considered to be the best. 7+588+6 with both the map of England and the folding map of the Beacons in Kent. Full calf binding sometime, but not recently, nicely rebacked together with marbled end papers. Size 190x145mm. William Lambarde (1536-1601) was admitted to Lincoln's Inn in 1556, was a writer on legal subjects but is best known for the Perambulations. He lived in the Manor of St. Clere in Ighham and is buried in the Church of St. Nicolas in Sevenoaks. Seller Inventory # 25429
