Paperback. Let's pretend it is possible to visit and chat with the white robed martyrs of Revelation 6:11 as they await their resurrection. Things we witness them thinking, saying, and doing are based on reliable historical documents, but the atmosphere of the place is imagined. The Martyrs' Club presents a worship service for Pentecost Sunday plus seven more worship sets where you encounter dead saints in stories with a plot. You get a behind-the-scene view of Thomas recognizing his calling as the apostle to India. Executed Dietrich Bonhoeffer says astonishing things about the marriage of Jesus, Ephrem of Nisibis sings and addresses the heresies of his day, and headless martyr Saint Alban banters with the martyr Blandina as she stitches his head back onto his neck. Irenaeus takes the pulpit to defend the views for which they killed him, Moses the Black lives his legacy, and Macrina explains a thing or two that only she knows about her brothers Basil of Caesarea and Gregory of Nyssa. All this in a neat little Narrative Preaching package-special sauce to bring alive the on-going story of Pentecost. This item is printed on demand. Shipping may be from our UK warehouse or from our Australian or US warehouses, depending on stock availability. …
