Penny collecting has entered a historic new chapter now that the US Mint has ended production of new pennies for everyday circulation. The supply of pennies in circulation is now fixed, and each year fewer will remain as coins are lost, saved, or pulled from the system. This makes today one of the best times to start collecting, especially for beginners who want to find valuable coins on a small budget.
This simple and practical guide shows you how to collect wheat cents, copper pennies, and beginner friendly error coins using pennies already in circulation. You will learn how to search your home for overlooked coins, how to get penny rolls from banks while they are still available, and how to sort your finds quickly and confidently. You will also learn which pennies stand out during this final era of circulation, how to identify the features that matter most, and how to build a small but meaningful collection without spending much money.
The book also covers easy ways to stay organized, beginner friendly tools you can use for free, and simple methods for selling extra pennies for a little extra income. Everything is written clearly and designed for new collectors who want results without confusion or complicated coin terminology.
If you want to start penny collecting during this rare moment in US currency history, this guide gives you the tools, confidence, and knowledge to begin the right way.
