Young Nick Buckley has escaped death three times: first, the brakes of her car failed when she was about to go down a hill; then a huge rock nearly crushed her, and at last a heavy painting collapsed on her bed. When Hercule Poirot discovers a bullet hole in Nick's hat, he's sure the girl needs his protection. However, the detective's efforts are not enough, and he soon realizes that the killer does not intend to stop until he reaches his goal. Poirot must muster all his wits to solve the case before the crime is committed.

teatrales de sus novelas en el West End londinense. En 1971 le fue concedida
la distinción de
Dame of the British Empire. Murió en
1976.
Born in Torquay in 1891, Agatha
Christie received a typical Victorian education from governesses in
her father's home. After her father's death, she moved to Paris, where she
studied piano and singing. He married in 1914 and had a daughter, but their
marriage ended in divorce in 1928. Two years later, during a trip to the
Middle East, she met archaeologist Max Mallowan, whom she married that same
year; thereafter, she spent several months a year in Syria and Iraq, the scene
of Come and tell me how you live (Andanzas 50, now also in the
Fábula collection) and some of her detective novels, such as
Murder in Mesopotamia or
Intrigue in Baghdad. In addition to the
great success enjoyed by her famous novels, from 1953 onwards she gained fame
with the theatrical adaptations of his novels in London's West End. In 1971
she was awarded the distinction of Dame of the British
Empire. She died in 1976.
