Dust Jacket in very good condition, price clipped inside flap but stamped Price in the upper right hand corner 2.75. Mylar covered dust jacket. Mint green with an illustration of Pekin White in the center of the dust jacke This is the story of Pekin White and his wife Matilda on a New Hampshire farm. Pekin is a handsome white drake whose brave exploits are greatly admired by the ducks. This is Tom McCready, in his second little book about the Warner farm in New Hampshire. He writes from actual experience because he and his family really are the Warners of the story. Pekin and his friend, Biggity Bantam, are very much alive, as are the Warner children. And, of course, Mrs. Warner is Mrs McCready, who is also the famous painter and illustrator, Tasha Tudor, Small wonder that the lovely water colors in this book and in Biggity Bantam have a beauty and freshness all their own, for Tasha Tudor is painting of what she knows and loves best.
