Independent award winning filmmaker and playwright Lance Steen Anthony Nielsen had an avid interest in the operation ever since he saw its partial depiction in the epic 1962 film 'The Longest day'. This piqued his interest in the subject and when he was asked what film he would like to do with a decent budget, he didn't hesitate to jump at the chance to tell the story of Pegasus Bridge in more detail. Lance put together a team of trusted colleagues and began attaching a tremendous line up of British talent for the picture. However the production soon ran into difficulty, and when the promised funding failed to materialise the film went into turnaround. For several years afterwards funding was sought for the project from various avenues, none of which ultimately met with success. However the script was written and revised a number of times during the preparation for the movie. Now for the first time it is being published so that Lances true vision for the story can be read for all to see. He still intends that one day the film will become a reality.
In addition to the screenplay for the film, the book contains a chapter about the struggles to get the film into production and some production notes on the preparation that was undertaken to make it a reality.
The very first edition of this book has two guests who have contributed to the forward section. A third is expected to be added in the near future.
"Synopsis" may belong to another edition of this title.
