Pebbles in my pockets: letting go of things you have no control over is the deeply moving sequel to I CAN-CER VIVE: Live Happy, Choose Joy.
In this next chapter of her life, Monya Williams shares an inspiring and unflinchingly honest story of resilience, faith, and transformation. Writing straight from the heart, Monya reflects on navigating unwanted pain, the loss of friendships, and the life-altering reality of permanent partial facial paralysis.
Over the course of six years, Monya endured more than forty-nine surgeries-each one demanding courage, surrender, and hope. For the first time, she shares this journey in full, offering a candid look at the daily struggles that accompany trauma, loss, and healing. Yet this is not a story of despair. It is a story of choosing joy.
Pebbles in my pockets reveals how one woman rewrote the plot of her life-not by denying hardship, but by releasing what she could not control and embracing what still mattered most.
Monya is a mother, grandmother, breast cancer survivor, and a woman who has walked through fire and emerged radiant. She is a truth-teller, a heart-listener, and a warrior of spirit who believes deeply in faith, healing, and divine connection. With vulnerability, humor, and wisdom earned through lived experience, she offers readers comfort, clarity, and hope.
This memoir is a love letter to anyone who is hurting, hoping, or holding on. Monya lives each day honoring the spirits of those she has lost-and uplifting those still on the journey.
