Written by two pediatricians and a child psychologist, Peak and Boo is a fun and educational story that introduces children to wellness through the eyes of a curious young peacock.
Meet Peak, a young peacock with an insecurity: his feathers don't match the other peacocks' feathers. Why doesn't he have beautiful plumage like them?
Thankfully, his best friend Boo can cheer him up about almost anything. The two set off to tackle Peak's big question about his feathers-but when their tummies start to rumble, it's time to fuel up with some brain power before the next adventure begins!
This starts a slow but incredible realization for Peak, who finds out he might not be:
- Eating the best foods to power his brain.
- Moving to keep himself in the best shape.
- Resting enough to recover his mind and body.
- Learning how to calm down when he's overwhelmed.
- Spending time with people who matter to him.
- Thinking about others.
As the reader follows Peak and Boo through their journey , it becomes clear what Peak needs to do to feel better about his feathers-and how those lifestyle changes can have a powerful effect on his health!
Peak and Boo was written by professionals to promote wellness in a fun way. It centers on whole-body wellness-from physical to emotional and mental health-with real-life situations, such as feeling left out at school or playing video games too late into the night.
For any parent passionate about instilling healthy habits in their children from an early age, consider adding Peak and Boo to their bookshelves.
