Petrovich Pavlov (1849–1936) was a Russian physiologist famous for his work in classical conditioning, and his namesake; 'Pavlov's Dog'. He spent his life studying physiology and science, and made numerous significant discoveries. For his pioneering work, Pavlov was awarded the 1904 Nobel Prize for Physiology.
