Description: Originally published in 1968, this reprint edition is part of the Time-Life World War II Classics series, The Secret War. ''In her vivid memoir of life in Nazi Germany during the war years, Christabel Bielenberg writes from a unique point of view. A bright young English debutante, the author became a German citizen upon her marriage to a German law student in 1934. Their life together became a struggle to stay alive and together. Before the war was over, her husband and his closest friends would be neck-deep in a plot to kill Hitler. Her book starkly recounts scenes from those unforgettable years.'' This copy includes the publisher's insert. BINDNG/CONDITION: from a uniformly bound series: tan marbled boards with half black imitation leather (corners and spine), all edges gilt, ribbon place marker, a Very Good+ book. Printed endpapers. 8vo (8.5 inches tall). 284 pages.
