Are you an ADHD and autistic parent struggling to keep up with the demands of raising children while managing your own executive dysfunction, sensory sensitivities, and emotional dysregulation?
You're not alone—and you're not failing.
Parenting When You Have AuDHD is a comprehensive guide written specifically for parents who themselves have ADHD and autism. This isn't another book about parenting neurodivergent children. This is about YOU—the parent with executive function challenges, sensory overload, and emotional regulation difficulties trying to navigate the already-demanding role of raising kids.
What You'll Discover Inside:
Executive Function Survival Strategies. Learn how to manage the mental load of parenting when your brain struggles with planning, organization, and memory. Build external systems that work WITH your ADHD brain, not against it—from visual schedules to body doubling techniques.
Sensory Overload Solutions.Find practical tools for managing sensory sensitivities when your children create constant noise, mess, and unpredictable stimulation. Discover how to create sensory-friendly spaces and implement coping strategies that prevent meltdowns.
Emotional Regulation Frameworks. Understand why you lose your temper more easily than neurotypical parents and learn concrete techniques for managing emotional dysregulation. Master co-regulation strategies, repair scripts, and the 5-point scale for parents.
Energy Management Systems. Apply spoon theory to parenting and learn how to prevent autistic and ADHD burnout. Discover micro-rest strategies, boundary-setting techniques, and how to build a sustainable approach to parenting.
Flexible Routines That Actually Work .Solve the AuDHD paradox of needing routine but hating rigidity. Create flexible structures that provide predictability without triggering ADHD resistance to repetition.
Self-Compassion and Guilt Relief.Break free from the cycle of guilt and shame that comes from not meeting neurotypical parenting standards. Learn to challenge harmful narratives and treat yourself with the kindness you deserve.
Building Your Support Village .Navigate rejection sensitivity while creating meaningful connections. Find neurodivergent-affirming communities and learn how to ask for help without fear.
Your Unique Parenting Strengths. Discover how your pattern recognition, deep empathy, creative problem-solving, and hyperfocus abilities make you an exceptional parent. Your AuDHD isn't despite being a good parent—it's part of what makes you one.
