Данное исследование было задумано для того, чтобы лучше понять взаимосвязь между вовлеченностью учащихся, их успеваемостью и отношениями между учителем и учеником. Далее, через поведение учителя отражались отношения между учителем и учеником, а затем указывалось, насколько эффективно поведение учителя влияет на вовлеченность и успеваемость ученика. Интересно, что поведение учителя в классе, как оказалось, значительно по-разному интерпретируется учениками с высокой и низкой успеваемостью, что определяет их разное восприятие отношений с учителем. Результаты данного исследования свидетельствуют о том, что учителям английского языка необходимо проявлять больше понимания и помощи, но меньше назидательного поведения по отношению к слабоуспевающим ученикам, чтобы способствовать их вовлечению в процесс изучения английского языка в классе.
