Are you bored of the world you're in? Paint a new one.
Imagine being able to paint whatever you want on a canvas...and then step inside and explore. Any world you desire. The only limit is your own imagination.
That's the gift Jack Ravensthorpe discovers he has, when against all odds, he wins a competition and becomes the apprentice of the most famous artist to have ever lived, Dante De Luca.
Tragically, after eight years of honing his superb abilities, a catastrophe strikes, and Jack is left plummeting towards an emotional abyss. To reunite with his beloved mentor, Dante, he must enter a savage world ruled by the ruthless Archduke Oakenfol and his rebellious daughter, Annabelle.
A world brimming with backstabbing, blades and teeth.
A world Jack may not survive.
A world he created.
Will Jack's stubborn determination and burning love conquer all? Or is he certain to perish within his own painting?
The Painter's Apprentice is a riot of colour, painted in love, hope and blood. Suitable for all ages.
"Small has written a fast-paced, engrossing coming-of-age tale full of wonder and magic. The only danger is that the reader will become as lost in its pages as the characters do in the fantastical worlds they put on canvas. I thoroughly enjoyed this entertaining fantasy debut!" ★★★★★
- EE Holmes, bestselling author of the Gateway Trilogy
"I pre-ordered the eBook after getting hooked by the first several chapters Alexander gave away as a newsletter sign up freebie. I read a lot of YA fantasy -- it's one of my favorite genres. Alexander is a talented new voice in the genre. He's going on my auto-buy list." ★★★★★
- Molly Zenk, USA Today bestselling author of the Captivity Trilogy
"I thoroughly enjoyed the Painter's Apprentice and highly recommend it to anyone wanting to be whisked away into painted worlds and good writing." ★★★★★
- Taylor Aston White, USA Today bestselling author of the Alice Skye Series
