Whoever wants to read about happiness is probably still looking for it. One needs to admit this and let go of the pressure of positive thinking, which is created by others who secretly do not experience happiness either. This book invites the reader to explore their feelings free of false expectations. Its aphorisms are the kind of thoughts and phrases that one usually tells oneself only silently. Step by step, they draw a more complete, more honest picture of happiness than one usually sees. It may be that happiness was there all along, hidden beneath the noise and concerns of one’s daily life. It may, however, look different compared to what one was searching for before, more doubtful and contradictory, but also more exhilarating. Negativity can be a force and source of energy, too. In following the winding path from one painful thought to the next, the reader may find the joy of clarity and a new resolve.
