It is a guide for those new to PXI systems and a useful source of reference material for the more experienced. The PXImate covers a wide variety of topics in a concise and easily read format. In addition to providing an overview of the PXI standard it describes many of the switching and instrument functions that often occupy PXI chassis. At the time of writing the PXI standard is Revision 2.1. A Revision 2.2 is in preparation by the PXISA to clarify some aspects and may include definitions of 32 bit and lower power versions of the standard. This is a living document that Pickering Interfaces will continue to develop in support of the PXI standard and its future evolution.
