Hardcover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: No Dust Jacket. First Edition; First Printing. Blue cloth bound boards with Bright gilt titling to the spine and front cover. The spine has a little repaired chipping to the top edge, but no loss, and has had a number near the foot of the spine, but this has been removed and has been 'blued over' to try to match the colour of the spine. Overall a pretty Good copy but is an Ex-Reference Library copy with MINIMAL marks = a Reference Library label is on the front pastedown, and there are slight traces of a label(s? ) having been removed on the opposing endpaper. Some very small (2. 5 cms x 1. 5 cms) purple library stamps here and there - mainly on the reverse of pictures, o/w NO other Library markings I can see. No Inscriptions or other Marks. 8vo Tall/Thick. ALL hinges tight. Top edge coloured as issued. Remaining page fore-edges age-toned and some light scattered foxing spots here and there in the text - but, as ever, mainly to the prelims and first few pages. (xv) + (1) + 397 pp. A tissue-guarded sepia engraved frontispiece portrait (unfinished by Landseer) and 4 other pictures on gloss paper. Tailpieces by W.P. Robins, R.E. Index. See Images; Ex-Library; Large 8vo 9" - 10" tall. Seller Inventory # 113740

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Very good in like dust jacket. Smells a touch musty. A touch foxed to endpapers. Unread. Uncut pages. I don't think you'd find a copy in finer condition. Seller Inventory # 035392
