Publication of this benchmark review of the book arts extended from January 1975, through 1990, ceasing with 16, no. 3. In 2003, Editor Sandra Kirshenbaum issued "The Complete Index to Fine Print" which was declared to be Volume 16 Number 4, printed by Pro Art Libri of San Francisco, and Oak Knoll Press. "Fine Print began life in 1975 as an eight-page "Newsletter for the Arts of the Book". Its initial purpose was to present bibliographic descriptions of fineloy printed books (i.e. letterpress) along with reports on allied arts like hand bookbinding, calligraphy, and papermaking. At first.each issue [was] totally redesigned by a different graphic artist or printer.but soon became too burdensome to maintain.". This soon morphed into the publisher's "practice of choosing a different outstanding graphic artist to design the cover of each issue". ".Fine Print became the international medium for exploring the intellectual content of books in relation to their graphical, historical and craft aspects.". Seller Inventory # 86052
