8vo. 6 x 8.75 inches. 12 + 352 pp. Bound in original maroon cloth, gilt, in dust wrapper, which has sunned spine and edge chips and tears. Some spotting largely confined to fly leaves, but otherwise a very good copy. 1942 gift inscription on first free endpaper. Illustrated by 23 photographic plates and by 121 text figures. Well illustrated guide to the practice of photo-micrography, by John Edwin Barnard and Frank Victor Welch. The first edition, by Barnard alone, was published in 1911. Founded by Patrick Marrin's father George in 1946, Marrin's Bookshop has been based in its current Folkestone location since 1963. Patrick has worked in bookselling since 1970. As well as rare antiquarian books, maps and prints, the stock includes a wide range of literature, library sets, travel, history and illustrated books in all fields. We also offer a bookbinding and restoration service. Visitors to the shop are welcome and we exhibit at UK book fairs.
