Reprint (first published by Dodd, Mead in 1922) SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR. Hardcover: H 19.25cm x L 13cm. [6], 412 pages. No dust jacket (i.e. lacking). Reddish-orange cloth; light soiling/staining to boards; slight wear to bumped spine ends and board corners; spine's lettering darkened but contrasts well against sunned spine cloth; front board's gilt lettering still reasonably bright. Author's two-line ink inscription "Cordially Yours | Robert Service" at top of front free endpaper which has strip of blue-green paper affixed at center likely obscuring a past owner's signature. Pages 411-412 torn at upper spine margin and tipped-in repair along gutter. Book now presented in a trimmed clear Dura-Lar (polyester film) sheet forming a dj which modestly enhances shelf appearance.
