Seven snapshot photographs, measuring about 3.5" x 5", including white borders. Prints in fine condition. Each photograph depicts the graveside ceremony during the funeral for Orville Wright, the last surviving of the Wright Brothers, who invented the first successful airplane. Wright died on January 30, 1948 in his hometown of Dayton, Ohio, nearly four decades after the untimely passing of his brother Wilbur. The photographs are uncredited. The lone printed word "Velox" appears on the verso of each image, though it is nearly entirely faded. This dates the images to the 1940s or early 1950s, indicating that these are contemporary prints from the original negatives. The images mostly center Wright's headstone as the main subject, but some of the shots show numerous mourners, some of whom might be identifiable to aviation enthusiasts. A unique curiosity, which could differentiate any Wright collection from its peers. Seller Inventory # 5910
