Exquisitely bound by Sangorski and Sutcliffe in full red morocco (signed in gilt on front turn-in). Spine and covers with gilt ruled frames and tooling. All page edges gilt. Marbled endpapers. Half-title. Condition: NEAR FINE. Light sunning to spine, otherwise an immaculate copy with neat contemporary inscription to fep. Notes: Early edition of Quiller-Couch's collection of English poetry, first published in 1900, in a handsome signed binding. "This volume soon became the standard anthology of English verse and sold nearly a million volume during Quiller-Couch's lifetime" (ODNB).
