when she was 17 devastated her—turning her toward a life of despair and destruction. First, she
dealt drugs. Then she began using them. Desiree was homeless, destitute, and on the edge when
she was arrested, convicted, and imprisoned. She’d lost herself and her children. Her life was
over.
But it was actually just beginning. Behind bars, she reintroduced Desiree to Desiree and spoke
life to herself. If I can change how I think, she concluded, I can change how I behave.
She did—and the transformation has been amazing! She went on to find her soulmate. She was
reunited with her children, some of whom had been in foster care. Ultimately, she created I Am
You 360 so that she and her team could radically change the lives of young people for the better.
Her story will capture you, inspire you, and help you see that you can go From That to This and
own the light of your own amazingness. You are somebody!
