Larry Lester never had a chance. Taken from his mother at age three, bounced through foster homes, abandoned, injured, and overlooked, he grew up believing trouble followed him wherever he went. Every placement ended in heartbreak. Every new beginning came with loss. Yet somehow, he kept getting back up.

From surviving abuse and neglect to pushing through injury after injury, Larry refuses to quit. He discovers discipline in the military, loyalty in unexpected friendships, and hope in the older foster parents who show him what family is supposed to look like. But his path is never simple. Life throws him into war zones, near-fatal accidents, shattered bones, and more than one brush with death.

Just when it seems like fate is finished with him, a chance encounter on an airplane changes his future forever. A former foster kid turned successful businessman sees something in Larry that no one else ever noticed. With mentorship, opportunity, and relentless perseverance, Larry proves that even the most broken beginning can lead to an extraordinary life.
